LaserSettings started from a simple observation: laser engraving and cutting settings are scattered across forums, videos and chat groups, and rarely state the three things that matter — the exact machine, the exact source and the exact material. The result is hours lost and boards wasted rediscovering a value somebody already knew.
The site gathers those settings in one place, always tied to a machine, a source, a material and a thickness. Each value can be confirmed by other workshops or disputed: that cross-checking, not view counts, drives the reliability shown.
Alongside it are a test-grid generator to find your own settings on an offcut, written material guides (settings, risks, finishing), a database of forbidden materials, and a gallery where members show their pieces with the settings used.
Journalists, bloggers and video makers: logos, visuals and useful facts are available on this page. For an interview, a specific figure or any other request, use the Contact page — we are happy to answer, including about what the site cannot do yet.
A few markers to place the project: the catalogue covers diode, fibre, CO2 and MOPA machines, from entry-level units to industrial markers, with the sources actually fitted to each model. Materials range from plywood and exotic hardwoods to metals, acrylics, leather, textiles and glass, each documented with its risks.
The site is bilingual French / English, works offline once installed from the browser, and ships free tools: a test-grid generator and an engraving cost calculator. Paid features fund hosting and the time spent on the database; the settings themselves stay readable without an account.
Possible angles, if you are looking for a story: the time and material a beginner wastes for lack of reliable settings, forbidden materials in shared workshops (PVC first), or how a community verifies technical data without a lab — simply by testing it on several different machines.
