A test grid is the reliable way to find your own settings: a series of small squares engraved or cut with increasing power and speed, on the exact material you are about to use. In one run you see where the material starts to mark, where it cuts through and where it burns.
The generator asks for your machine, your source and your material, then builds the grid within the ranges that make sense for that combination, so you do not waste a whole sheet exploring settings that could never work. The file exports to LightBurn or SVG.
Read the result on the part itself rather than on screen: pick the fastest square that still gives a clean cut or the engraving shade you want, then keep a small margin. Lens cleanliness, focus and air assist change the outcome as much as the numbers.
Once you have found a working setting, publish it: it becomes usable by every other owner of the same machine, and other members can confirm it. That is how the database grows — one tested grid at a time, rather than values copied from a forum.
